Hardware Development Engineer
As a Hardware Development Engineer at Graphcore, you will be instrumental in designing and validating hardware for next-generation AI systems. This role involves translating complex system requirements into production-ready hardware, collaborating closely with silicon, architecture, and software teams to optimize performance and reliability. Your contributions will directly influence the scalability and efficiency of Graphcore's AI compute platforms.
Key responsibilities include circuit design, validation, and system bring-up for Graphcore's AI processors. You will generate schematics, define PCB layout constraints, and work alongside the PCB CAD team to realize designs. Additionally, you will develop and execute test and validation plans, analyze results, and collaborate with firmware and system architecture teams to debug and enhance system performance.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of DCDC voltage regulators, linear regulators, and PCB design requirements for efficient power delivery. Experience with processor system development, particularly with STM32, and familiarity with interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, FLASH, USB, I2C, SPI, and JTAG are essential. Proficiency in digital circuit development, validation, and practical lab experience with high-speed digital oscilloscopes and logic analyzers are also required. Skills in scripting languages like Linux, Python, and Bash for test automation and data analysis are advantageous.
