Growth Marketing Manager – Lifecycle
xAI is seeking a strategic and hands-on Growth Marketing Manager – Lifecycle to oversee and enhance the post-acquisition customer journey for its subscription products. This role involves designing and implementing personalized, automated programs across multiple channels, including email, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messaging, with the goal of converting users into loyal, high-value subscribers. The position is integral to driving engagement, adoption, retention, expansion, and reducing churn.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing end-to-end lifecycle strategies by mapping customer journeys and defining critical stages such as onboarding, activation, habit formation, expansion, renewal, and win-back. The role requires launching impactful campaigns like welcome series, product education, milestone triggers, re-engagement initiatives, upselling, cross-selling, churn prevention, and subscription reactivation. Additionally, the manager will build and refine audience segments using behavioral, usage, and subscription data to deliver hyper-personalized experiences. Collaboration with product, data analytics, customer success, and engineering teams is essential to align on triggers, messaging, and technical implementation. The role also involves setting up, monitoring, and optimizing experiments to improve key performance metrics and analyzing performance data to identify opportunities and report on key KPIs.
The ideal candidate will have 4–7+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, retention/growth marketing, CRM marketing, or customer marketing, preferably within B2C e-commerce, SaaS, fintech, or consumer tech sectors. A proven track record of managing lifecycle programs that led to measurable improvements in retention, engagement, expansion, or revenue is essential. Hands-on expertise with marketing automation and CRM platforms such as Braze, Iterable, or Klaviyo is required. Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in writing SQL for cohort analysis and behavioral metrics, are necessary. Experience in building and testing multi-channel journeys, excellent copywriting and storytelling abilities, a data-driven mindset, and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with cross-functional stakeholders are also important.
Preferred qualifications include experience with advanced segmentation and personalization tools like Segment, mParticle, or Census, a background in product-led growth environments or hybrid PLG/subscription models, familiarity with loyalty or rewards programs, referral mechanics, or subscription optimization, exposure to AI-driven personalization or predictive churn modeling, and knowledge of web or mobile analytics and experimentation platforms.
The compensation for this role ranges from $125,000 to $225,000 USD.
