Group sanctions and compliance specialist
Remote is seeking a Group Sanctions and Compliance Specialist to enhance its global compliance framework. This role involves developing and refining procedures for customer vetting and monitoring, ensuring adherence to sanctions, anti-money laundering (AML), and counter-financing of terrorism (CFT) regulations. The specialist will collaborate with the Risk Operations - Regulatory Compliance team to implement innovative compliance policies and systems.
Key responsibilities include maintaining compliance with evolving sanctions, AML, and CFT regulations, identifying and mitigating associated risks, and serving as an escalation point for onboarding and transaction monitoring teams. The role also involves drafting and improving policies related to customer due diligence, risk assessments, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting. Additionally, the specialist will coordinate AML/CFT audits and oversee the control environment to ensure ongoing compliance.
Candidates should have proven experience in compliance roles within the fintech or financial services sector, with a focus on financial crime and sanctions compliance. Comprehensive knowledge of AML, CFT, and sanctions regulations across jurisdictions such as the UK, EU, USA, and Canada is essential. Professional AML or compliance certifications are required, along with strong automation and AI capabilities. Fluency in English is necessary, and prior remote work experience is advantageous.
The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $39,850 to $89,700 USD, depending on location and experience.
