Global Head of Commercial Compliance – Platforms
As the Global Head of Commercial Compliance – Platforms at Nium, you will lead the compliance strategy for platform businesses, ensuring that product innovation and commercial expansion are supported by robust, scalable compliance controls. This role is integral to Nium's mission of delivering real-time, cross-border payment solutions to banks, fintechs, and global businesses.
Key responsibilities include designing and operating a comprehensive compliance framework covering AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC/KYB, and transaction monitoring tailored to platform businesses. You will proactively partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to embed compliance-by-design into new products and services, translate global regulatory changes into actionable commercial opportunities, conduct regular risk assessments, strengthen due diligence processes for third-party relationships, support legal teams in reviewing high-risk commercial contracts, and implement automated monitoring and reporting systems to detect potential violations.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in compliance, with deep expertise in cross-border payments or fintech, particularly within platform institutions or payments companies enabling platform businesses. A commercial mindset is essential, viewing compliance as a product feature that facilitates deals. Expert knowledge of global regulatory frameworks in major markets, comfort with AI-native tools and stablecoin settlement rails, deep expertise in AML, sanctions, and data privacy laws, hands-on experience implementing compliance technology solutions, and strong leadership presence to influence senior management and work effectively with cross-functional teams are also required.
