Geospatial Reasoning Specialist (Senior) - Freelance AI Trainer Project
The Geospatial Reasoning Specialist (Senior) role is a freelance position focused on developing a geospatial reasoning agent for crisis response applications. This agent aims to enhance AI systems' ability to understand, assess, and predict real-world events characterized by uncertain or incomplete data. The specialist will play a pivotal role in guiding model development and evaluation, laying the groundwork for future geospatial reasoning and forecasting tools.
Key responsibilities include evaluating AI-generated outputs, identifying analytical weaknesses, and designing metrics and test cases to improve model understanding and predictive accuracy. The specialist will review geospatial scenarios, validate model outputs, define and refine reasoning frameworks, and collaborate with the team to enhance data-driven evaluations.
Candidates should possess deep experience in geospatial analysis, crisis response, or related fields such as damage assessment, agriculture, site selection, supply chain optimization, or forecasting. Proficiency with geospatial tools and libraries like QGIS, ArcGIS, GDAL, and PostGIS is preferred. Strong reasoning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex spatial relationships clearly are essential.
The position offers a pay rate of $24 per hour, with the exact rate determined based on experience, expertise, and geographic location. As a contractor, the specialist is expected to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet connection; company-sponsored benefits such as health insurance and paid time off do not apply.
