General Trades Cost Estimator - FOS

The General Trades Cost Estimator at Facility Optimization Solutions (FOS), a subsidiary of CannonDesign, plays a pivotal role in managing and expanding the Job Order Contracting (JOC) unit cost database. This position offers flexibility with remote work options across the United States.

In this role, the estimator is responsible for researching and adding new items to the database, including descriptions, scope clarifications, and associated costs. They also update existing unit costs, refine item descriptions, and identify relationships between items to create assembly-based unit costs. Collaboration with contractors, field Account Managers, and client Project Managers is essential to determine appropriate item selections, review bid proposals, and reconcile item costs and scope.

Candidates should possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, with at least three years of experience, or five years of experience in lieu of formal education. A thorough understanding of cost estimating across various commercial building types and construction methods is required. Proficiency in applying CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat coding structures, along with strong analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and time management skills, is essential.

The compensation for this position ranges from $57,600 to $72,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
