Arista Networks is seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our development team in Sydney. This role involves designing, implementing, verifying, and testing FPGA-based digital systems for cutting-edge networking products. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and customer engineering, to develop innovative and reliable solutions deployed across diverse industries.

Key responsibilities include designing and implementing digital logic using VHDL for FPGAs, developing and optimizing high-speed, low-latency FPGA designs targeting AMD/Xilinx Ultrascale Plus devices, and integrating FPGA modules with embedded systems and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, DDR4, and AXI. The role also involves performing functional simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and optimization using industry-standard EDA tools like Vivado and ModelSim. Additionally, the engineer will create and maintain design specifications, test plans, and user guides, and support platform bring-up, validation, and debugging in the lab using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG tools.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with over 5 years of experience in FPGA or ASIC design and development. Proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, experience with FPGA development tools like Vivado or Quartus, and a strong understanding of digital logic, high-speed design, and timing closure are essential. Candidates must be based in Australia and possess a valid work permit at the time of application.

Arista Networks offers a collaborative and innovative work environment, emphasizing continuous improvement of FPGA development processes, methodologies, and design practices. Employees have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge networking products and contribute to the advancement of data-driven, client-to-cloud networking solutions.
