FPGA Design Engineer - Ireland
Arista Networks is seeking a skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our development team in Ireland. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, verifying, and testing FPGA-based digital systems for cutting-edge networking products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and customer engineering, to develop innovative and reliable solutions deployed across diverse industries.
Your primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing digital logic using VHDL for FPGAs, developing and optimizing high-speed, low-latency FPGA designs targeting AMD/Xilinx Ultrascale Plus devices, and integrating FPGA modules with embedded systems, processors, and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, DDR4, and AXI. Additionally, you will perform functional simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and optimization using industry-standard EDA tools like Vivado and ModelSim. You will also create and maintain both internal and customer-facing documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user guides.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in FPGA or ASIC design and development. Proficiency in hardware description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, experience with FPGA development tools like Vivado or Quartus, and a strong understanding of digital logic, high-speed design, and timing closure are essential. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with scripting languages like Tcl or Python for automation, knowledge of version control systems such as Git, and an understanding of Ethernet and the OSI layer model.
