Formulations Scientist – Group Leader

Eurofins is seeking a Formulations Scientist – Group Leader to join their Formulations team in Boston, MA. This role combines hands-on analytical chemistry and formulation support for RNA–lipid nanoparticle (LNP) development with technical and people leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys working at the bench while also mentoring others, supporting operational excellence, and contributing to a positive, high-performing team environment.

Key responsibilities include performing and supporting experiments in accordance with established protocols, analyzing RNA–lipid nanoparticles using various analytical techniques and instrumentation such as HPLC, SoloVPE, MFI, AKTA, DLS, HI-AC, and viscosity measurements, and supporting protein and buffer formulation activities as needed. The role also involves maintaining accurate, timely documentation using an electronic laboratory notebook, following GLP, safety guidelines, and documentation best practices, and assisting with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

The position requires a B.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 3–4 years of relevant laboratory experience, or an M.S. in biological or biochemical sciences (or related field) with 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience. Experience in formulation, analytical, or process development of genetic modalities (e.g., siRNA, mRNA, RNA–LNP) is essential, along with demonstrated proficiency in chromatography and separation techniques, including hands-on HPLC experience. Prior leadership experience with the ability to train and mentor team members is also required.
