Finance & Grants Analyst
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Finance & Grants Analyst to join its Finance team. This role is ideal for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with experience in nonprofit grant accounting, financial compliance, and grants management.
The Finance & Grants Analyst will play a key role in managing the financial administration of grants and contracts from award through closeout. This position partners closely with program leadership and finance teams to ensure accurate billing, compliance, reporting, forecasting, and revenue recognition across multiple funding sources.
Key responsibilities include managing financial coordination of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and GAAP standards, preparing and reviewing grant billings, performing monthly grant revenue recognition, monitoring grant-related accounts receivable, developing budget-to-actual reporting, coordinating payroll allocations for grants, supporting grant audits, assisting with annual audit preparation, collaborating with program teams on budgeting, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with 2–4 years of nonprofit grant accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP, grant accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting is essential. Experience with accounting systems, particularly Financial Edge, is preferred. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, along with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, are also required.
