Field Operations Manager
As a Field Operations Manager at Via, you will oversee the daily operations of our Transit-as-a-Service (TaaS) offerings in Tacoma, Washington. Via is a transportation technology company that provides software and operational services for on-demand and shared public transit, aiming to transform transportation systems worldwide.
In this role, you will manage daily onsite operations, ensuring the provision of safe, reliable, and accessible transportation services. Your responsibilities will include making real-time decisions regarding fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and addressing unexpected issues to maintain service excellence. You will also guide and support drivers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality service. Additionally, you will analyze rider and community feedback to implement operational improvements and use data and technology to enhance service efficiency and rider experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience in operations management, people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as you will interact with drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners. A hands-on and proactive approach is necessary, with a preference for fieldwork and problem-solving in real-time. The role also requires both tactical and strategic thinking to address immediate issues and develop long-term solutions. A mission-driven attitude focused on expanding transportation access and improving community mobility is crucial.
This is a fully in-person position based in Tacoma, Washington, with the expectation of being onsite 4–5 days a week. The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $82,500 per year, with the final salary determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
