Field Operations Manager
As a Field Operations Manager at Anduril Industries, you will lead the coordination and execution of deploying the Ghost Shark, an extra-large fully autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), for the Australian Navy. This role is integral to the success of Anduril's Ghost Shark Program in Australia, ensuring effective customer and mission outcomes. You will collaborate across multiple departments, including Field Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Training, and Maintenance, to oversee deployment plans, logistics, test site operations, maintenance and repairs, field inventory management, and stakeholder coordination.
Your primary responsibilities will include developing strong working relationships with supply chain, logistics, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure successful execution of all deployments and field operations. You will own and flawlessly execute both one-off deployments and continuous field operations, managing the coordination of field activities. Effective communication is crucial; you will utilize tools such as JIRA, Oracle, Slack, email, and meetings to keep internal and external teams informed. Attention to detail is essential, as you will create structured plans for each deployment to ensure personnel and hardware are in the right place at the right time. Additionally, you will problem-solve and remove obstacles for the team and partners, engaging the right teams to assist as needed. A dedicated team player mindset is important, as you will contribute to the overall success of the team by taking on various tasks and driving continuous improvement in Anduril's processes.
The ideal candidate will have a mission-first mindset, prioritizing the needs of the mission and customers. An ownership mentality is essential, with a natural bias to assume responsibility and contribute to a culture of performance. Technical aptitude and intellectual curiosity are important, as managing operations demands technical fluency and the drive to understand complex systems. Structured thinking and problem-solving skills are critical, with the ability to distill complexity into digestible components and supervise execution to ensure mission success. Role requirements include a willingness to travel up to 50% of the year, a bachelor's degree in engineering, maritime studies, or equivalent experience in a related technical field, and experience in maritime operations, particularly with autonomous or unmanned systems, is a plus. Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV2 security clearance is also required.
Anduril offers a comprehensive benefits package, including full coverage of medical insurance premiums for employees and their dependents in Australia. A superannuation plan is also provided for Australian roles.

The company is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years. Employees are encouraged to drive for continuous improvement and consistently look for ways to ease the burden on the team and customers.
