Field Manager - Data, Optimization & AI (German-speaking)
The Field Manager – Data, Optimization & AI at Via is a pivotal role within the Operations team, focusing on the daily management and optimization of on-demand transportation services in the greater Frankfurt area. This position combines hands-on operational oversight with strategic initiatives to enhance service reliability and efficiency. The role requires a strong command of both German and English, with a minimum proficiency level of C1 in each language. A valid German driver's license (Class B) is also mandatory.
In this role, you will oversee daily onsite operations, ensuring safe and reliable transportation for riders. You will drive continuous optimization across the field team and service by leveraging data, technology, AI, and automation, including leading AI projects from conception to implementation. Real-time decision-making on fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and addressing unexpected issues will be key responsibilities. Additionally, you will guide and support drivers, build strong relationships, and translate rider and community feedback into actionable improvements.
Candidates should have operational experience in people management, logistics, customer service, or other process-oriented fields. Strong communication skills are essential for building trust with drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners. A hands-on and proactive approach is necessary, with the ability to take responsibility and solve problems in the field, even under pressure. Being data-driven, structured, and digitally savvy, with the ability to use analytics and AI tools to solve problems and improve services, is crucial.
The compensation package includes a base salary range of €45,000 to €55,000, with the final amount determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. Additional benefits include a company pension scheme with a 20% employer contribution, an Urban Sports Club membership, and 30 days of vacation per year.
