Federal Major Account Manager - (Army - SOCOM, COCOM)
Arista Networks is seeking a Federal Major Account Manager to drive the transformation to Software Defined Cloud Networking within the U.S. Federal Government, specifically focusing on the Army's Special Operations Command (SOCOM) and Combatant Commands (COCOM). This role involves collaborating with skilled Customer Engineers, Professional Services, and Executive teams to deliver automated networking solutions tailored to the unique needs of these military divisions. The position reports to a Regional Sales Manager or Area Vice President of Sales and is based in the DMV area, including Reston, VA; Bethesda, MD; and Fort Meade, MD.
The primary responsibilities include leading sales strategies to achieve revenue goals within the Department of Defense, particularly the Army, SOCOM, and COCOM. The role entails consultative selling and solution development to address federal customer needs, coordinating with various company resources such as sales operations, service, and management. Additionally, the manager will identify, develop, and close sales opportunities across Arista's product portfolio, including high-performance Data Center Campus and AI Networking platforms, as well as Arista Cloud Vision for network automation and telemetry. Establishing productive relationships with key personnel in assigned agencies and creating targeted account plans in collaboration with partner managers and the sales engineering team are also essential duties.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS, CS, BBA) or equivalent and have a minimum of 10 years of federal sales experience, with recent relationships selling into the Army, SOCOM, and COCOM. In-depth knowledge of federal procurement programs and strategies for capturing opportunities within the federal government and federal systems integrators is required. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in strategically selling into U.S. federal accounts, federal systems integrators, and managed service providers. Strong leadership skills to lead cross-functional teams within engineering, legal, marketing, and external partners are essential. Proficiency in networking technologies such as routing, switching, SDN, SD-WAN, campus networks, network virtualization, and NFV is also necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of building business plans and exceeding sales targets are expected. The role requires travel to customers and partners by air and land, and U.S. citizenship with the ability to pass background checks and potential clearance processes is mandatory. Active security clearances (TS/SCI) are preferred but not required.
The base salary for this position ranges from $132,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on factors such as skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commissions, equity, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings, and income protection.
