Facilities Manager
Bisnow is seeking a proactive and hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and overall condition of multiple properties in Jersey City, NJ. This role requires a leader who enjoys being on-site, working alongside maintenance staff, coordinating contractors, and ensuring that every detail is addressed. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of building maintenance with excellent organizational skills, financial responsibility, and the ability to lead a small team.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily maintenance and physical operations across multiple properties, conducting routine building walkthroughs to identify maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and appearance issues, and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks directly when appropriate. The Facilities Manager will also develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensure all interior and exterior spaces are safe, functional, clean, and well-maintained, and respond promptly to maintenance emergencies. Additional duties involve supervising and coordinating maintenance employees, managing relationships with outside contractors and service providers, coordinating small- to medium-sized renovation and repair projects, and maintaining facilities in accordance with applicable building, fire, health, and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in facilities management, building maintenance, property maintenance, or a related field. Strong hands-on knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs, is essential. Experience supervising maintenance staff and coordinating outside contractors is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine appropriate solutions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, experience managing vendor relationships, and proficiency in using work-order software, email, spreadsheets, and other basic technology are also necessary. A valid driver's license and the ability to work 100% on-site in Jersey City and travel between properties are required.
Compensation for this role ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 per year. The position is full-time and requires on-site presence in Jersey City, NJ.
