Environmental Science Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

The Environmental Science Specialist – AI Trainer role is a freelance position within Invisible Agency, focusing on enhancing AI models through expert environmental science knowledge. This remote contract opportunity is open to candidates based in the Philippines, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to cutting-edge AI development.

In this role, you will engage with advanced language models on topics such as carbon cycling, environmental impact assessments, air and water quality monitoring, ecosystem modeling, life cycle analysis, environmental toxicology, renewable energy systems, and climate adaptation strategies. Your primary responsibilities include conversing with AI models on real-world scenarios and theoretical questions, verifying factual accuracy and logical soundness, capturing reproducible error traces, and suggesting improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.

Ideal candidates possess a PhD in environmental science or a closely related earth or ecological science field. Experience in peer-reviewed publications, field research, regulatory work, or GIS-based environmental assessments is highly valued. Clear, metacognitive communication skills—effectively "showing your work"—are essential for success in this role.

Compensation ranges from $8 to $65 per hour, determined based on experience, expertise, and geographic location. As a contractor, you are expected to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet connection.
