As an Engineering Manager at Monks, you will lead the technical execution and uphold quality standards to ensure successful, timely project deliveries. Collaborating closely with Product Management, you will align the technical roadmap with business priorities, oversee project execution, set technical direction, and maintain rigorous quality and operational standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for attracting, nurturing, coaching, and retaining top engineering talent, defining engineering standards, and contributing to the strategic vision of the organization.

Your key responsibilities will include driving the technical execution of the roadmap to ensure projects are completed on time and meet high-quality standards. You will collaborate with Product Management to manage the technical roadmap, balancing feature development, technical debt, and operational stability. Acting as the primary technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, you will communicate progress, manage expectations, and mitigate technical risks to ensure project success. You will also be accountable for the quality of the team's deliverables, contribute to defining engineering quality standards and best practices, and provide technical guidance and architectural context to unblock the team and ensure scalable solutions.

To be successful in this role, you should have a B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with at least 8 years of professional engineering experience and 3 years of management experience. Experience with web and native (iOS) applications is essential. Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities are required, along with excellent organizational and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships. A good knowledge of design and architectural patterns and development best practices is necessary, as well as proven success in driving complex, cross-functional engineering projects from concept to production. Strong technical judgment and the ability to challenge, guide, and mentor engineers on design and implementation are important, along with experience in defining and implementing quality standards in engineering practices. Previous experience collaborating on highly distributed teams across multiple countries and time zones is also valuable.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status. This role is subject to the company's Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company’s then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.
