Engineering Manager
As an Engineering Manager at Monks, you will lead high-performing engineering teams, fostering talent and building strong client partnerships. Your role involves developing direct reports for long-term success, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions, and facilitating communication between multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Key responsibilities include building inclusive teams of diverse engineers, coaching and mentoring direct reports, proactively addressing performance issues, collaborating with product and program teams to define business requirements, maintaining a clear focus on delivery priorities, ensuring high standards for product and code quality, championing open communication within and between teams, understanding technical contexts and challenges, building strong relationships with client stakeholders, contributing to supporting artifacts, and removing barriers to support program delivery.
The ideal candidate will have over 14 years of experience in IT or related fields, including at least 3 years managing engineering teams. A strong understanding of modern web technologies and development practices is essential, along with hands-on expertise in technologies such as Ruby, Python, Go, TypeScript, Swift, or React. Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, proven ability to build inclusive, high-performing teams, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail are also required.
