This role involves building, coaching, and inspiring the engineering team to meet company objectives and bring new products and features to market.

The Engineering Manager will lead a team working on growth-focused initiatives such as increasing self-service customer conversions, improving the onboarding experience, creating engagement loops, and expanding product usage across segments. Responsibilities include leading test experimentation across multiple surfaces to unlock incremental business value while improving customer experience, driving the technical vision for the team, partnering closely with product management to build new features and enhance existing ones, reducing technical debt, and sustainably scaling the architecture. The role also involves building relationships with cross-functional teams, nurturing and growing team members based on their career aspirations, hiring top talent, representing the team in planning and product meetings, and optimizing engineering processes and policies to drive velocity and quality.

Candidates should have at least 4 years of experience as an engineering manager and 8 years as an engineer. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with strong skills in critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Experience managing quality incidents as both a technical lead and communication lead is required, as well as experience working on products at scale and understanding the data, legal, human impact, and technical nuances of supporting highly regulated products. Strong experience with TDD, pair programming, and agile methodologies is necessary, along with a deep understanding of service architecture and system design as well as lean software development principles. The ability to make high-level prioritization decisions quickly and thoughtfully, develop inclusive teams to foster growth and diversity, mentor team members, and a strong bias for action are also important.

The position offers a fast-paced and collaborative environment, learning and development allowance, competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement, 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage, up to $25,000 reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services, flexible PTO policy, and a monthly wellness stipend.
