Engineering Manager, Data Infrastructure
CoreWeave is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Platform & Infrastructure Engineering team within the Data Infrastructure organization. This team is responsible for ensuring the performance, reliability, scalability, and security of CoreWeave's data platform, which supports large-scale ingestion, transformation, analytics, and AI workloads. The company specializes in providing high-performance cloud infrastructure tailored for AI applications, serving a diverse range of clients from startups to global enterprises.
In this role, the Engineering Manager will oversee a team of Software Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers, focusing on the reliability, scalability, and performance of core systems such as compute engines, orchestration frameworks, and storage layers. The position involves close collaboration with Data Engineering teams and cross-functional groups, including Production Engineering, Developer Experience, Security Engineering, and IT Operations, to ensure the platform is robust, secure, and user-friendly. The role balances leadership responsibilities with deep technical involvement, including hands-on support for critical initiatives when necessary.
Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience in software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or data platform engineering roles, with a minimum of 2 years managing engineering teams. Proficiency in operating and scaling data platform infrastructure, such as Spark, Airflow, Iceberg, and StarRocks, is essential. Deep expertise in Kubernetes and containerized software development, along with experience in building and operating distributed systems with high availability and performance requirements, is also required. Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, Go, or Rust are necessary.
The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $165,000 to $242,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
