Engineering Lead
As an Engineering Lead at WPP Media, you will lead a product delivery team responsible for building and evolving modern digital platforms. This hands-on role involves balancing writing production code with guiding architecture, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the delivery of well-engineered software. You will collaborate closely with delivery managers, design leads, principal engineers, and client stakeholders to shape technical direction and deliver high-quality software through iterative and incremental delivery.
Key responsibilities include leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of 4–5 software engineers, providing technical leadership to ensure systems are scalable and maintainable, and contributing to production code and technical design discussions. You will work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver work within a product delivery team, promoting strong engineering practices such as testing, CI/CD, code quality, observability, and documentation.
The ideal candidate will have experience acting as a technical lead or senior engineer within a product delivery team, strong experience building modern web applications using TypeScript and frameworks such as Next.js, and experience working with Node.js and modern backend architectures. Experience designing and building distributed or composable web applications, collaborating with cross-disciplinary product teams, and establishing engineering practices is also essential. Strong communication skills and a passion for mentoring engineers are key attributes for this role.
