This role focuses on expanding our presence in mission-critical industries such as automotive, medical devices, industrial systems, robotics, telecommunications, and consumer electronics. As a key member of our globally distributed team, you will contribute to the development and deployment of Ubuntu Core, our secure and resilient operating system tailored for IoT devices.

Fluency in at least one programming language such as Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust is required. Strong communication and presentation skills, a result-oriented mindset, and the ability to multitask are also important. While many projects can be completed remotely, the successful candidate should be willing to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.
Canonical offers a distributed work environment with twice-yearly in-person team sprints, a personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year, annual compensation reviews, recognition rewards, annual holiday leave, maternity and paternity leave, and an Employee Assistance Programme. Additionally, there are opportunities to travel to new locations to meet colleagues and access to Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long-haul company events.
Joining Canonical means becoming part of a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source. As the publisher of Ubuntu, one of the most important open source projects and a platform for AI, IoT, and the cloud, we are changing the world of software. We recruit globally and set high standards for our team members, expecting excellence in all aspects of our work. Working here will challenge you to think differently, work smarter, learn new skills, and raise your professional game.
