Electrical III
CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join their multidisciplinary team. This remote position involves working under the guidance of a licensed engineer on projects spanning educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors. The role offers the flexibility of remote work, with a preference for candidates located near major U.S. cities such as Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO; or Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, you will participate in project planning sessions, potentially taking a lead role, and may assume project engineering responsibilities to meet financial and work goals. Your tasks will include initiating project designs, developing design goals and systems, and performing electrical engineering systems design for building construction. You will design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with applicable codes. Additionally, you will prepare construction documents, guide less experienced team members, specify electrical equipment, conduct quality control checks, participate in value engineering sessions, and review shop drawings and submittals. Site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress will also be part of your responsibilities.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably from an ABET-accredited program, and have a minimum of six years of related experience. An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is preferred, as is LEED accreditation. Strong analytical skills, the ability to contribute to process development, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Proficiency in engineering design software such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools is required.
The salary range for this position is $76,190 to $95,190 annually, with potential for discretionary bonuses.
