Electrical Engineer (Shenzhen)
Formlabs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team in Shenzhen, China. In this role, you will lead the electronics design for our 3D printing and related products, contributing to our mission of bringing groundbreaking professional 3D printers to the desktops of designers, engineers, researchers, and artists worldwide.
As an Electrical Engineer at Formlabs, you will be responsible for full-stack design, taking projects from concept through initial prototyping to mass production. Your duties will include making architectural decisions, ensuring design reliability and cost-effectiveness, and developing wired and wireless connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Ethernet. Additionally, you will design systems involving physical sensors and actuators, write basic code to test functionality, and engage in hands-on prototyping, validation, debugging, and reworking of boards.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and debugging electronics, with proficiency in both analog and digital design, PCB layout, validation, and debugging techniques. A basic familiarity with embedded systems, such as microcontroller firmware developed in C/C++ or embedded Linux, is required. Experience in the consumer electronics industry and familiarity with relevant standards and certifications are also essential. A working knowledge of English is necessary for documentation and verbal communication of technical ideas.
