Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support central plant and building electrical systems. This role focuses on designing, evaluating, and improving electrical infrastructure to enhance performance, reliability, and energy efficiency. The position is based in Washington, DC, with potential travel up to 20–30%.
Key responsibilities include designing and analyzing medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems, performing load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies. The engineer will support and evaluate electrical equipment such as generators, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, VFDs, panels, motors, pumps, fans, and compressors. Additionally, integrating electrical systems with building automation and control systems, reviewing electrical drawings and technical documents, and developing project plans to improve system efficiency are essential duties.
Candidates must have strong knowledge of building electrical and energy systems, the ability to analyze data and translate technical findings into practical solutions, and strong communication skills for customer-facing work. A commitment to staying current with electrical and energy-efficient technologies is also required. Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of experience in building or site electrical systems, or an Associate/technical degree with 10+ years of relevant electrical experience. U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a National Agency Check (SF-85P/NACI) are mandatory.
The position offers a salary range of $100,000 to $120,000 per year. Benefits include a 401(k) with company match, health, dental, and life insurance, paid time off, and relocation assistance. The role is in-person, with a preferred commute or relocation to Pentagon, DC 20301.
