Electrical Engineer III
CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join their multidisciplinary team. This remote position is open to candidates across the United States, with a preference for those located near Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO; or Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves working under the direction of a senior engineer on projects that include new construction and renovation in educational, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology sectors.
As an Electrical Engineer III, you will participate in project planning sessions, potentially taking a lead role. You will initiate project designs, develop design goals and systems, and perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction. Your responsibilities will include designing lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with applicable codes. Additionally, you will prepare construction documents, guide less experienced team members, specify electrical equipment, conduct quality control checks, participate in value engineering sessions, and review shop drawings and submittals. Site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress will also be part of your duties.
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of related experience and hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States. LEED accreditation is preferred. The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of contributing to process development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively handle multiple projects. Experience with engineering design software such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools is required.
The salary range for this position is $84,210 to $105,210 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
