Electrical Engineer III
CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join their multidisciplinary team, working under the guidance of a senior engineer. This role involves contributing to projects across various sectors, including education, healthcare, sports, corporate commercial, and science and technology. The position is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located in or near Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; or Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, you will participate in project planning sessions, potentially taking a lead role, and may assume project engineering responsibilities, adhering to financial and work goals. You will initiate project designs, develop design goals and systems, and perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction. Your responsibilities will include designing lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and/or telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, and commercial clients, ensuring compliance with applicable codes. Additionally, you will prepare construction documents, guide less experienced team members, specify electrical equipment, conduct quality control checks, participate in value engineering sessions, and review shop drawings and submittals. Site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress will also be part of your duties.
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of related experience and hold a current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States. LEED accreditation is preferred. The ideal candidate will be an independent thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of contributing to process development. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively handle multiple projects. Experience with engineering design software such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools is required.
The salary range for this position is $84,210 to $105,210 annually.
