Editorial Event Producer
Semafor is seeking an Editorial Event Producer to collaborate closely with the Executive Editor and live journalism team in developing and executing high-profile events. This role involves conceptualizing editorial event themes, crafting content plans, and securing distinguished speakers for various global and national events, including signature summits, single-topic forums, newsmaker interviews, and thought leader roundtables. The position is full-time and temporary, spanning from December 2025 to June 2026.
Key responsibilities include managing the entire event editorial process, from research and concept development to speaker booking and on-site execution. The producer will draft event frameworks, align session descriptions with Semafor's editorial goals, and lead the development of briefing materials for moderators. Additionally, the role entails overseeing all stages of the speaker process, including outreach, confirmations, pre-event briefings, and day-of management, as well as maintaining a network of professional relationships to support future events.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and have over seven years of experience in broadcast journalism, event content or programming development, or related fields. The role requires demonstrated expertise in managing complex editorial programs, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and strong organizational abilities. A deep understanding of major business and economic trends, coupled with an entrepreneurial drive and passion for the media industry, is essential.
The position offers a starting salary of $50.00 per hour, with compensation based on factors such as education, work experience, and certifications.
