The Editor will report directly to the Managing Editor for the region and play a pivotal role in curating content that resonates with the city's vibrant audience.
The Editor will be responsible for identifying compelling stories and generating diverse content ideas tailored to the NYC market. This includes writing engaging and accurate articles, monitoring site content such as daily news and features, and managing an editorial calendar that encompasses news, reviews, and local city content. Additionally, the role involves overseeing social media strategies across platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, ensuring all content aligns with Secret Media Network's standards.
Candidates should have over three years of experience in a newsroom, content agency, creative agency, or digital media property. A strong command of English is essential, with a second language considered a plus. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for journalism, social media, and digital marketing, along with the ability to adapt to the dynamic environment of a digital startup. Leadership skills are crucial, as the role involves managing a team of local writers, video producers, and social media creatives.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $85,000 to $90,000, with the potential for significant performance-based bonuses.
