Draftsman - UAE National Only
The Draftsman role at BESIX involves preparing detailed and accurate project and tender drawings, serving as a crucial link between the design, estimating, and project teams. This position ensures that all drawings are clear and well-coordinated, aligning with client requirements and contract specifications. BESIX, through its subsidiary Six Construct, is a leading Belgian construction company operating in the Middle East, specializing in complex construction, infrastructure, and marine projects.
Key responsibilities include creating detailed drawings and mark-ups based on tender documents and design instructions, producing quantity take-off drawings to support Quantity Surveyors and Estimators, and developing visual aids for tender submissions. The Draftsman will also coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, and MEP teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings, raise queries regarding unclear details, and support the tender team in client or consultant follow-ups. Maintaining organized records of drawings, ensuring compliance with company standards, and assisting in archiving finalized drawings are also essential duties.
Candidates should hold a diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field, with 0–5 years of experience in drafting for construction projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant drafting software is required, along with knowledge of 2D and 3D drafting standards. Experience in infrastructure and marine projects, familiarity with tender documentation, and an understanding of construction methods and materials are advantageous. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication abilities are essential.
