Director, Specialist Solutions Engineering
The Director of Specialist Solutions Engineering at Gong will lead a high-performing team focused on delivering expert business and technical knowledge for Gong's most strategic products across all sales segments. This role involves designing the team's strategy and operating model to drive revenue growth and thought leadership within the go-to-market team. The team also serves as a strategic link between Sales and Product organizations, influencing the product roadmap and equipping the field with expert technical acumen.
Key responsibilities include building a customer-focused team that effectively communicates the business outcomes achievable with the Gong platform, recruiting and mentoring skilled Solutions Engineers, fostering collaboration within the Solutions Engineering team and with Sales counterparts, developing streamlined cross-functional processes, and optimizing workflows by collaborating with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Enablement teams. The Director will also embody and enforce Gong's Operating Principles in daily practices and team interactions.
The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of relevant solutions engineering experience, including more than 6 years in leadership roles managing high-performing teams. They should demonstrate strong people management skills, a commitment to mentoring and employee development, and experience in building successful teams from the ground up. Expertise in cross-functional collaboration, developing processes, and securing buy-in from senior leaders is essential. A proven track record of driving revenue impact through team strategy and direct deal support, along with strong business acumen and familiarity with sales technology, data flows, AI concepts, and APIs, is required. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are also necessary.
