In this role, the Director will own all aspects of security, privacy, and compliance across the organization. Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing security and privacy policies, leading cybersecurity incident response, partnering with the executive team to align security strategy with business goals, overseeing compliance with relevant frameworks such as GLBA, FFIEC, and SOC 2, and championing privacy-by-design principles across product and AI initiatives. The Director will also lead security and privacy initiatives for AI-powered products, ensuring the safe deployment of generative AI and LLM-driven systems through secure architecture and responsible AI governance. Collaboration with Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to address security inquiries and due diligence requests is also essential. Additionally, the Director will deliver executive-level security and risk reports to leadership and the board, collaborate with Engineering and Cloud Infrastructure teams to embed DevSecOps and secure architecture practices, and build, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of security and privacy engineers.

Candidates should have over 12 years of cybersecurity leadership experience, ideally within financial services, banking, fintech, or regulated environments. A strong understanding of securing AI-driven platforms, LLM workflows, and AI-powered products is crucial, including awareness of emerging AI risks such as prompt injection, data leakage, and model misuse. Expertise in securing cloud-native infrastructure, particularly AWS, encompassing identity management, network security, container security, and infrastructure protection, is required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to embed security-by-design practices across distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines. Deep knowledge of data protection, encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and threat modeling, especially for sensitive financial data, is essential. A strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as GLBA, FFIEC, and SOC 2, with experience building compliant security programs, is necessary. Proven executive leadership and communication skills, including the ability to lead security programs, communicate risk to executive stakeholders, and build high-performing security and privacy engineering teams, are important. A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is required, with a Master's degree being preferred.
