Director, Real Estate and Commercial Counsel
Relativity Space is seeking a Director, Real Estate and Commercial Counsel to lead large-scale infrastructure projects integral to the company's expansion. This role involves strategic partnership with the Infrastructure & Facilities Team and other executive groups to oversee the acquisition and leasing of land, construction and renovation of facilities, and development of transportation infrastructure. The position is based in Long Beach, California.
In this capacity, the Director will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse array of commercial agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, construction contracts, easements, and maintenance agreements. The role also entails advising internal stakeholders on land use, title, entitlements, permitting, and zoning matters related to infrastructure development. Collaboration with cross-functional teams in engineering, test and launch operations, manufacturing, and finance is essential to support new site acquisitions, construction, and facility buildouts.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and an active bar membership in at least one U.S. state, with a minimum of seven years of post-JD experience, including at least three years at a top law firm. Strong contract negotiation, drafting, and project management skills are required, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Experience in driving large-scale real estate, infrastructure, or construction projects from inception to completion is preferred.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $245,000 to $336,500 USD, with additional benefits such as equity, generous paid time off, parental leave, and an annual learning and development stipend.
