Acadia Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Director/Senior Director, Product Counsel to serve as the primary legal advisor for assigned pharmaceutical brands. This role offers the flexibility to be based in either Princeton, NJ, or San Diego, CA, with Acadia's hybrid model requiring in-office presence three days per week.

In this position, the Product Counsel will provide strategic and day-to-day legal support across the full product lifecycle, including pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases. Responsibilities encompass offering legal expertise for promotional, medical, clinical, and access-related activities, serving as the legal representative on the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review committee, and ensuring all materials comply with company standards and applicable laws. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate legal and compliance risks while supporting business objectives.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and be an active member of the California or New Jersey State Bars or qualified as Registered In-house Counsel in either state. A minimum of eight years of relevant legal experience, particularly within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, is required. Previous product counsel experience is preferred. Key skills include a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to operate as a trusted business partner across all organizational levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

The compensation package includes a competitive base salary ranging from $218,900 to $273,600 USD, along with discretionary bonuses and equity awards based on individual and organizational performance.
