Director of Retail Operations, APAC
The Director of Retail Operations, APAC at ALO is responsible for translating the company's global retail strategies into regionally relevant and seamlessly executed operations across the Asia-Pacific region. This role leads in-market Retail Operations Managers, adapting global operating models and rollout plans to ensure flawless execution in communications, logistics, training, and measurement. Reporting to the Global Retail Operations function, the Director collaborates closely with the APAC market leadership team to ensure that tools, processes, and systems provided to the field operate seamlessly.
Key responsibilities include managing cross-functional critical-path milestones for new country enablement activities, conducting impact and gap assessments against the global operating model to determine necessary local adaptations, and partnering with the Global Retail Operations team to develop new operating models and processes tailored to various store concepts. The Director also oversees all store and field leader communications via the Zipline communication platform, ensuring content is translated appropriately while maintaining the essence of messaging. Additionally, the role involves leading the end-to-end execution of global initiatives in-region, ensuring full integration across communications, translations, logistics, training, and measurement.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in multi-country retail operations management across the APAC region, with a focus on execution in markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Experience with a global brand is preferred. Proven project management skills, the ability to develop and manage detailed timelines thoughtfully, and a self-starter attitude with the capability to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements are essential. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is required, along with the ability to travel to retail store locations throughout APAC and the headquarters office in Los Angeles as needed.
