The Director, Miami Ecosystem & Impact at Hut 8 is a leadership role within the Communications & Strategy team, dedicated to establishing Hut 8 as a central figure in Miami's tech community. This position involves developing and executing local media strategies, hosting events at the company's Brickell headquarters, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders in the startup ecosystem. The goal is to position Hut 8 as the anchor company that founders, investors, and engineers trust and collaborate with.
Key responsibilities include securing coverage in Miami-area press to highlight Hut 8's leadership in energy and digital infrastructure, identifying and participating in local tech conferences, and managing sponsorships. The Director will plan and host tech events, meetups, and community gatherings at Hut 8's 56,000 square foot Brickell office, making it a hub for the Miami tech community. Additionally, the role involves building relationships with entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, accelerators, and tech leaders across South Florida to establish Hut 8 as a trusted connector.
The ideal candidate is deeply embedded in the Miami tech scene, with a strong network and understanding of the local players, venues, and events. A background in technology is essential to engage credibly with founders, investors, and engineers. Experience in public relations or communications, particularly in media relations, event management, or community building, is required. The role demands an entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with building initiatives from scratch, and excellent communication skills to inspire and engage various stakeholders.
