Director, Marketing Data Science

The company is seeking a Director of Marketing Data Science to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of marketing analytics and data science initiatives. This role is pivotal in shaping acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization strategies through rigorous, data-driven insights.
The Director of Marketing Data Science will oversee a team of data scientists and analysts responsible for advanced analytics, experimentation, and machine learning solutions across lifecycle marketing, performance marketing, and growth initiatives. Key responsibilities include owning end-to-end marketing measurement, designing and evolving attribution and incrementality frameworks, defining and maintaining core marketing KPIs, and driving the evolution from descriptive analytics to predictive and prescriptive data science. Additionally, the role involves applying machine learning approaches to improve targeting, personalization, bidding, and lifecycle optimization, as well as building and mentoring a high-performing marketing data science team.
Candidates should have over 10 years of experience in data science, analytics, or applied statistics, with a significant focus on marketing and growth. Deep expertise in lifecycle analytics, performance marketing measurement, and attribution methodologies is essential. A strong foundation in data modeling, SQL, and analytics workflows, along with hands-on experience scaling data systems, is required. Proven experience leading and mentoring data science or analytics teams and the ability to translate data insights into clear business impact and executive-level recommendations are also necessary.
Flex offers a competitive compensation package that varies depending on the primary work location, categorized into three tiers based on a cost of labor index. For Tier A locations (NYC/SF), the salary range is $220,000 to $275,000 USD; for Tier B, $198,000 to $240,000 USD; and for Tier C, $187,000 to $230,000 USD.
