Director, European Strategic Communications
Anduril Industries is seeking a Director of European Strategic Communications to establish and lead its external communications across Europe. This senior individual contributor role, based in Amsterdam, reports to the VP of Global Communications and has a dotted line to the European General Manager. The successful candidate will be the first dedicated communications hire in Europe, responsible for building a regional program from the ground up, fostering relationships with media and institutions, and crafting narratives that shape Anduril's reputation in key defense markets.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive European communications strategy, managing media relations across defense, technology, business, and policy outlets, and creating market-specific narratives that align Anduril's mission with each country's defense priorities. The role also involves collaborating closely with the European General Manager and business development teams to support market entry, customer engagement, partnerships, and key events. Additionally, the Director will build and oversee a network of regional agencies and contractors as operations expand.
Candidates should possess over 10 years of experience in communications, public affairs, or media relations, preferably within the defense, national security, or dual-use technology sectors. A deep understanding of the European defense and political landscape across multiple countries is essential, along with a proven track record of establishing communications programs in new markets. Experience in managing agencies and regional communications networks, exceptional writing and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment are also required.
