Director, Assistant General Counsel, Employment, Ethics & Compliance
Moloco is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel specializing in Employment, Ethics, and Compliance to join our Legal team. This role will serve as the primary legal partner to Moloco’s People team and play a key leadership role in advancing our global ethics, compliance, and third-party risk programs. The position is based near our Menlo Park, California office and follows a hybrid in-office schedule.
The successful candidate will provide counsel on global employment-related issues, including employee policies, training, wage and hour compliance, performance management, leave of absence, discipline and terminations, investigations, and AI governance as it relates to employment use cases. They will lead the strategy and resolution of global employment-related disputes and investigations, including litigation, agency claims, subpoenas, and internal ethics matters, while partnering with outside counsel to minimize legal and regulatory risk. Additionally, they will lead the drafting, review, and ongoing enhancement of global ethics, compliance, and employment policies and templates, and support Moloco’s third-party risk management program.
Candidates should have 12+ years of relevant experience in labor, employment, ethics, and compliance, including a mix of law firm and in-house experience, preferably in a startup or private company setting. Membership in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California is required. Deep subject matter expertise in U.S. federal and state employment laws and regulations, strong business judgment, risk assessment skills, and excellent communication and drafting abilities are essential. Experience leading ethics and compliance programs, conducting sensitive internal investigations, and managing third-party compliance risks is also required.
