Development Analyst - Eastern Region, Intern
The Development Analyst Intern will support Aypa Power's Eastern Region team in advancing utility-scale energy storage and hybrid renewable projects. Aypa Power is a leading developer, owner, and operator in this sector, committed to responsibly decarbonizing the grid and enhancing energy affordability and efficiency across North America. This paid, full-time summer internship runs from June 8, 2026, to August 14, 2026, and requires in-person work at the Austin, TX office located in the Domain.
Key responsibilities include initiating contact with strategically identified landowners, conducting site due diligence, and researching land attributes and project constraints such as real estate title, political, local, environmental, and development issues. The intern will strategize site control expansion, understand solar development site suitability, and applicable government incentives. Additional duties involve preparing presentation materials for landowners and elected officials, developing relationships with external project stakeholders, tracking project status, navigating permitting processes, supporting due diligence for development or acquisition projects, and assisting in the overall development of utility-scale projects to the successful start of construction.
Candidates should be currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or working towards a graduate degree. Prior internship experience in land acquisition, project development, or the renewable energy field is preferred. A strong interest in the renewable energy sector and a passion for decarbonization initiatives are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work well in a team and adapt to an entrepreneurial environment, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are also required. The role demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently, along with a proactive and enthusiastic mindset focused on learning and professional development.
