CannonDesign is seeking a Designer II to join their multidisciplinary team in Buffalo, New York. This role focuses on design and technical aspects, collaborating closely with design and technical leadership to contribute to various projects. Under the direct supervision of a Licensed Architect, the Designer II will play an integral part in project teams, engaging in both conceptual and architectural design processes.

Key responsibilities include independently contributing to conceptual design, material selection, coordination, and architectural development as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Designer II will prepare and contribute to design and presentation efforts, including 3D design visualizations and other illustrative graphics. With guidance, they will assist in the production of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) model and associated deliverables. Participation in project coordination with other disciplines, potential leadership roles within the team on specific project issues, and reviewing shop drawing submittals with guidance from the Project Architect are also part of the role. Additional duties may include site visits and active participation in project team meetings.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field, with a preference for degrees from accredited programs. A minimum of four years of related professional experience is required. A strong creative design portfolio is essential, along with strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills. Proficiency with real-time rendering and 3D rendering software such as Enscape, Twinmotion, and/or V-Ray is required, as demonstrated through a portfolio of past and current visualization work. Some experience in computational design tools such as Grasshopper and Dynamo is preferred. Actively pursuing Architectural Registration in the United States and LEED accreditation are also preferred qualifications.

The salary range for this position is $62,600 to $78,200 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
