Design Technologist
CannonDesign is seeking a Design Technologist to join their team remotely in the United States. This role focuses on integrating design technology processes, standards, and tools across various projects to enhance project delivery within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. The Design Technologist will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and manage design technology solutions, ensuring the successful execution of projects.
Key responsibilities include assisting project teams with Building Information Modeling (BIM) execution planning during project kickoffs and milestones, advising on Level of Development/Detail for deliverables, and authoring and implementing standard workflows and processes. The role also involves evangelizing, educating, and supporting primary design applications, designing and delivering educational offerings on digital technologies, and supporting model managers by performing regular model audits and providing feedback to design teams. Additionally, the Design Technologist will work to improve the inclusion and use of metadata and champion the utilization of data collection and querying methods to enhance design intelligence, optimization, automation, simulation, and exploration within artificial intelligence.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of related experience in the AEC industry, including at least 3 years in a design technology management or implementation role. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Strong technical knowledge of model authoring tools like Revit, analysis tools like Insight 360, Dynamo, and review tools like Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape, and other design applications is essential. Knowledge of the Revit API is preferred but not required. Good verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and experience in training design and delivery are also important.
The salary range for this position is $76,800 to $96,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
