Design/ Technical Manager
The Design/Technical Manager at BESIX is responsible for leading and coordinating all design-related activities from the early project stages through construction delivery. This role ensures that designs are fully coordinated, buildable, compliant with contractual and authority requirements, and translated into high-quality shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. Serving as the primary technical liaison between clients, consultants, authorities, and internal teams, the manager maintains design intent while optimizing for constructability, safety, cost, and schedule.
Key responsibilities include leading the overall design coordination process across all disciplines—architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist systems. The manager manages interfaces between designers, specialist subcontractors, and construction teams, chairs design coordination meetings, and ensures timely production, review, and approval of all design deliverables. Additionally, the role involves translating design intent into buildable solutions aligned with BESIX construction methodology, leading constructability reviews, and overseeing the preparation and coordination of shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related construction discipline, with 12–15 years of experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably within Design & Build or Early Contractor Involvement environments. Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary design teams on complex, high-profile projects is essential. A strong background in coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP design deliverables, overseeing shop drawing production, and managing material submittals is required. Prior experience in the Middle East, with solid knowledge of local authority regulations and permitting procedures, is also necessary.
BESIX offers a dynamic and inclusive workplace guided by core values of respect, excellence, co-creation, passion, and unity. Employees are encouraged to reach their full potential through diverse and challenging projects, fostering both personal and professional growth.
