Design Manager

BESIX Watpac, an Australian multi-disciplinary construction company and a subsidiary of the international BESIX Group, is seeking a Design Manager to join their team in Canberra. This role is integral to delivering complex building and infrastructure projects, leveraging the company's century-long global expertise and financial strength.

The Design Manager will lead and manage consultants to produce high-quality design documentation that aligns with project briefs, budgets, and timelines. Responsibilities include reviewing designs for regulatory and building compliance, assessing constructability in collaboration with construction teams and subcontractors, and actively participating in developing project delivery methodologies. Maintaining design quality control management is also a key aspect of this role.

Candidates should possess a tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering, along with prior experience working with a principal contractor on large-scale design and construct building projects from inception to completion. The ability to collaborate effectively with external consultants to achieve optimal project outcomes and demonstrated success in dynamic, fast-paced environments are essential.
