Database Support Engineer
The Database Support Engineer role at Point72 involves supporting critical database platforms across Development, QA, UAT, and Production environments. This position is integral to ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of database services within the firm's technology infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include providing operational support for enterprise database platforms in both on-premises private cloud and public cloud environments. The engineer will monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability, responding to alerts, diagnosing issues, and performing timely remediation. Routine maintenance activities such as patching, upgrades, and housekeeping are also part of the role.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with an advanced degree being a plus. A minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration and infrastructure engineering is required. Strong experience with multiple database technologies, including SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Sybase, is essential. Additionally, knowledge of cloud-based database services like AWS Aurora, RDS DB, EC2, EBS, and S3 is important.
