Database Administrator, MSSQL (Bangkok based)

Agoda is seeking a Database Administrator specializing in MSSQL to join our dynamic Data department in Bangkok, Thailand. As part of a team managing over 800 MSSQL instances across five data centers, this role is crucial in maintaining our commitment to high availability and optimal performance for our global user base.

The successful candidate will be responsible for proactive monitoring to detect and address unusual database behaviors, such as high query resource usage and unusual traffic patterns. Responsibilities include researching and implementing automation tools to streamline daily operations, setting up and migrating production databases to support business growth, and coordinating with the Infrastructure team for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Applicants should have experience in 24×7 OLTP transactional MS SQL Server administration, a solid understanding of SQL queries, optimizers, and execution plans, and knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server. Strong English communication skills and the ability to multitask effectively across different teams are essential. Participation in an on-call rotation is also required.
