Data Scientist – GenAI & AI Engineering

Experian's Generative AI Centre of Expertise (GenAI CoE) is seeking a Data Scientist to enhance products through Generative AI, machine learning, and automation. This mid-level, hybrid role reports to the Head of Machine Learning and involves both experimentation and AI engineering.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams to define problem statements and success metrics, designing and conducting experiments to evaluate GenAI systems, refining solutions using modern development practices, and communicating results with recommendations for next steps. Additionally, the role involves sharing insights and dedicating time to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

The ideal candidate has experience in data science, applied machine learning, and Python programming. They should be comfortable working with incomplete information, eager to develop skills in AI engineering and product delivery, and possess a curious and reflective approach. The ability to integrate product, data, and engineering contexts to identify issues early and improve decisions is essential.

Preferred qualifications include exposure to software engineering practices such as version control, testing, or object-oriented programming, understanding of deploying AI systems through cloud services or containerized environments, experience collaborating with product managers and engineers, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.
