Data Science Manager (Marketing)
Moniepoint is seeking a strategic and hands-on Data Science Manager (Marketing) to lead data initiatives in a high-growth environment. This role is pivotal in driving the company's data strategy, fostering a data-driven culture, and ensuring the robust infrastructure and insights necessary for continued success as a leading African fintech. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Marketing team and lead a dedicated data team to execute the marketing strategy, build and improve current capabilities, and shape the future roadmap.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive data strategy, hiring and managing a high-performing team of data professionals, championing a culture of rigorous experimentation including A/B testing, overseeing the design and maintenance of scalable data pipelines, and driving the generation of actionable insights to support various business functions. The role also involves collaborating with marketing, product, and engineering managers to ensure the collection of meaningful data for business insights and bringing data leadership to product development.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience, typically 8+ years overall with at least 2 years in management or data leadership roles, a strong focus on strategy, execution, and team management, expertise in experimentation methodologies and A/B testing frameworks, proficiency in creating data pipelines using cloud platforms like Clickhouse and BigQuery, and confidence with data science tools and languages such as Python and SQL. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with a passion for working in marketing and using advertising data from platforms like Facebook.
