Data Protection Operations Lead

As a Data Protection Operations Lead at Airbnb, you will be an integral part of the Risk and Compliance Operations team, focusing on establishing standardized operational security processes to ensure proper risk governance and compliance within Community Support teams. In this position, you will drive operational excellence by designing and maintaining provisioning frameworks, collaborating with engineering partners to optimize permission models and tooling, and balancing speed with robust security across all processes. Key responsibilities include developing and executing improvement roadmaps, managing projects for implementing new security and privacy controls, leading process enhancements, optimizing access controls, and defining audit and reporting mechanisms for both internal and vendor teams.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of hands-on experience with Access and Privileged Access Management (PAM) operations in a technology-driven environment. Required qualifications include a solid background in identity and access management principles, experience with operationalizing Just-In-Time privilege models, role-based access controls, and enforcing segregation of duties. Proficiency in authentication protocols such as SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, Active Directory, LDAP, and Kerberos is essential, along with familiarity with cloud-based privileged access management and a strong understanding of security standards and regulatory frameworks relevant to access management.
