Data Privacy Attorney
Datasite is seeking a strategic and experienced Data Privacy Attorney to lead the company's legal efforts in privacy, data protection, and emerging AI governance. This role involves providing expert legal counsel to various departments, ensuring compliance with evolving privacy laws, and shaping the company's approach to responsible data use and innovation.
Key responsibilities include advising on privacy, data protection, cyber, and AI-related legal matters; reviewing and ensuring compliance with global privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA; managing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and AI DPIAs; handling Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs); advising on privacy-related policies; supporting the development of new products and services; participating in investigations and litigation regarding privacy law violations; and assisting with security incidents, including notification obligations.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, an active state bar license, and a minimum of five years of experience as a practicing attorney with specific expertise in privacy, data protection, cyber, and AI-related legal matters. Preferred qualifications include strategic and big-picture thinking, experience in presenting and training employees, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and prior experience working for an international company.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $99,000 to $172,700 per year, along with benefits such as health insurance (medical, dental, vision), a retirement savings plan, and paid time off. The role is based in Minneapolis, MN, and follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence a minimum of two days per week.
